VCD#1499 Dragon Boxing: 5 Horses Gallop Back This is NOT a Wing Chun form but it is Dragon style, that boxing created—it is said— by the nun Ng Mui (Wu Mei) and therefore the precursor to Wing Chun Pai. The body is rounded, the back expanded, the hands short and sweet. Many throwing and grappling moves spice up the strikes. A little more circular that Wing Chun but this is perhaps before the Chinese met Portuguese sailors and modified their style. The form is shown on a rooftop in both normal and slow speeds. It is then interspersed with APPLICATIONS of many of the moves. Not a lot of broken down instruction but generally quite clear. With Ma Guo Hui (Ma Gwok Fai). |

![]() About an hour, VCD pricing, Chinese Only This is the first form of Wing Chun, Xiao Lian Tou. If you are unaware of it, there is a definite connection between Hung Gar and Wing Chun and this version, shown by, is a perfect example of the hybrid which sometimes occurs. Most of the movements would be familiar to anyone doing the style but there is a greater emphasis on power issuance, and somewhat rounder arm motion as in the Hung style. Lam himself is very specific. The only problem is that, though he goes into a lot of details about the technique, he doesn’t shown anything with a partner. Instructor Lin Xin is a student of Deng Jing Tao. He has studied Hung Gar, Wing Chun, Hop Gar (Tibetan Kung Fu) and Yang Tai Chi. |

No one who knows Wing Chun looks down on the first form. It is the basis of the style. Here is a version, slightly different than others with a different tempo and interpretation. The form is broken down and applied, section by section with usage and occasional drills attached to the proper parts. A good, dynamic approach to this series which, all in all, has much useful instruction. Taught by Lo Bo Jun, head of the Foshan JinWu studio. He studied under Liu Rui Wen (Lum Tsai Mun), who was student of Yao Cai. |

Wing Chun uses short weapons, obviously, and here is the VCD that concentrates on skills with hips, shoulders, elbow and knees along with some basic Wing Chun kicks. The elbow portion utilizes the standard horizontal strikes along with the "bowing" elbow drop and Bong Sao (wing block) motion. Kicks are short, sweet and to the point. Some light sparring. Many examples of applied movements .Instructor: Mai You Ming. |

This is a very clear presentation of the Siu Nim Dao first Wing Chun form. As a part of the Wong Fei Hung Southern Fist the movements are surprisingly true to the Yip Man standard form. No applications but pretty good camera work and extensive close ups mostly from a frontal angle. |

VCD#866 Wing Chun Wing Chun Boxing Wing Chun demonstrated by true practitioners. Applications mixed with a demonstration of the form from numerous angles. Be aware that this is not exactly like the Yip Man style of Wing Chun but a cousin of that famous style. If you are a Wing Chun practitioner this is a very interesting series of postures and applications. Quite a nice demonstration of Bil Ji and other usage of true Wing Chun technique. |
