HAWK style boxing
 Demonstrator:
Dr. Yang Wei (want to know about this teacher's famous lineage?)
This is a branch of Shaolin Quan with similarities to Eagle style. Yang Wei is also an Eagle Boxing stylist and there are definite similarities. In general Hawk emphasizes speed, striking in additonal to holding, and moving in after the opponent's first two strikes. Yang Wei is a big man and he likes to hit. Most of the applications are self evident but some will require a few viewings. Each VCD is in Chinese and English, both of which are minimal.

VCD#1754 Hawk style Disorder Muscle & Bone
About
an hour, VCD pricing, Chinese/English
The Hawk is fast and penetrating. Yang Wei shows a whole group of Chin Na but from the Hawk standpoint. This branch of the art involves striking points and grabbing fingers in an active mode, much faster than the show and tell Chin Na most people demonstrate. If you are unfamiliar with nerve and muscle groupings some of these quick hits against muscle might mystify you and in truth not every variation looks completely practical. The VCD goes through wrist, elbow, shoulder and such and each technique is shown a number of times and named in English as well as Chinese.

Here are a group of counters with cavity strikes. These are quick and specific counters with each acupuncture point listed in the title. VCD#1758 Hawk style Throwing Methods to Injure
About
an hour, VCD pricing, Chinese/English
These are what we call “mean throws” that is tosses which injure instead of gently toppling the opponent. Some twist the neck, some pull and spin, some torque the spine then trip the person. Yang Wei demonstrates many throws notable for their brevity and their severity. Any of these might be called a Chin Na throw because they first catch the opponent the apply the proper and specific torque. |

About
an hour, VCD pricing, Chinese/English

Yang Wei demonstrates a wide variety of techniques which accomplish just this. Many leg sweeps, locks, hooks, bumps all ending in arm locks, leg locks, throat grabs and leg scissors. |
VCD#1760 Hawk style Hard Fighting Method
About
an hour, VCD pricing, Chinese/English
Just as Judo has Ate-Waza or Striking Technique any complete Chin Na system must also have a striking component. In this case the rule follows the classic adage of “The hands are windows and the legs are doors.” Most of these combinations use a couple of hand strikes to set up an unruly and unexpected close in kick. By the same token these hand and leg attacks are perfect for setting up further Chin Na controls and grappling.. |
